Gulash and mash potatoes

Gulash

Ingredients:
- 3-4 spoons of oil
- 1 finely diced red onion
- 1 big clove of minced garlic
- 1.5 lb beef
- 4 full tablespoons of flour
- 1 full teaspoon of red paprika
- 2-3 teaspoons of "vegeta" ( if you don't have vegeta you can use 1 knorr beef cube)
- Black pepper
- Big pinch of kosher salt
- 1 teaspoon of minced fresh parsley (fresh is better but you can also use dried parsley flakes)
- 1-2 bay leaf

Directions:

Step one:
In a big pot heat the oil and put the onion. Reduce the temperature to medium and cook it for 5 min until it gets soft. Then you put minced garlic. Cook it for another 2 min.

Step two:
In the same pot put beef that you've previously cut into small cubes.
Increase the temperature a little bit, and cook it for another 10 min, stirring constantly, until the meat change the color. (if you like you could also add mushrooms)
Step three:
Add 2 glasses of water and boil it for another 20 min, or until the water evaporates.
 Step four:
Reduce the temperature to medium and add flour and paprika and stir it quickly for a minute or 2.
 Step five:
Add 6 cups (1 1/2 l) of water, bay leaf, vegeta, pepper and parsley and boil it for 30-45 minutes. The longer you cook the better. Try it and see if you need to add more salt or pepper.
